Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Bible Reading for April 15 (ONPP)
Luke 19 – 21, Psalms 90
Luke 19:3 – When we seek Jesus He is faithful to respond and make Himself known to us. Whether we take up His invitation as Zacchaeus did or shun Him as the priests and Pharisees did is up to us. Remember, He died to redeem the debt of our sin and arose to make us a place in Heaven.
Luke 19:8 – Zacchaeus was a rich man. He did not sell all that he had, he sold his heart to trust in God’s plan of reconciliation.
Luke 19:26 – The gifts that God has given us are to be used to glorify Him to all people. If we ignore their purpose or do not use these gifts to His glory they will be taken away from us. His Word is His most precious gift that we should use to glorify Him.
Luke 19:42 – If they had known what it would take for them to have Him as King. The suffering, punishment, and death of Christ in His great love for them, would they still be as jubilant in their praise? I would hope that a true believer would be in mourning for the cross but overjoyed for God’s great love for them.
Luke 20:1 – Why are we reading about this again? There are four gospels, and we learn best through repetition.
Luke 21:6 – This happened when Roman solders burned the temple and then tore every stone apart to get to the gold that had melted down between them.
Luke 21:8 – So many have called people away to destruction with this deception. In Hosea God says “My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge.”
Luke 21:24 – These things have come to pass and the time of the gentiles in Daniel’s seventy week (sevens) prophecy of 490 years is not yet complete as of this writing. On June 27 1967 Israel took control of East Jerusalem even now other nations (peoples) are trodding down Jerusalem and in control of the Temple Mount.
Luke 21:32 – Is this the generation that sees Jerusalem fully under the control of Israel? Is the Greek (genea) better translated as ‘age’ referring to the time of the church?
Luke 21:34 – This is good advice for the unbeliever also.
Psalms 90:2 – Moses is restating what he wrote in Genesis. God is there always.
Psalms 90:12 – Keep track of your days young man for you may turn around and your children will be grown and gone. Take the time to see what is going on around you.
Psalms 90:7 – Father God, reflect your Glory in us and guide us daily in what you have for us to do.
