I Samuel 9 – 12, Proverbs 16
I Samuel 9:2 – Definitely Saul is a man that the world would choose for leadership.
I Samuel 9:13 – Later Saul would not remember this, that the people waited until Samuel came.
I Samuel 9:16 – This man may save Israel form the Philistines IF he obeys God.
I Samuel 9:21 – Truly Benjamin was small being left to only 600 families near the end of the book of Judges.
I Samuel 9:24 – Samuel gave Saul a down payment and prepared a place for him showing that he was expected before he knew he was going to be there.
I Samuel 10:2 – Samuel is giving Saul a specific place where he will meet not one but two men and the message they will bring him.
I Samuel 10:4 = All this foreknowledge is to build up Saul’s faith in the message that Samuel gave him about God’s chosen leadership role for him.
I Samuel 10:7 – Cart Blanch to do as you please, but you are not yourself you have become another man (a new creation) following God’s plan not our own.
I Samuel 10:8 – Again they must wait for Samuel to arrive before the sacrifice.
I Samuel 10:9 – God does change hearts, my want to is changed to His want to.
I Samuel 10:27 – These sons of Belial are worthless, evil, prideful, men that would not have any to rule over them and would try to provoke dissatisfaction with God’s choice of leadership.
I Samuel 11:1 – This is the same Jabesh–gilead that was slaughtered in Judges 21 for not coming to battle against Benjamin and now a Benjamite is leading a force to defend it. These in Jabesh–gilead are not the descendants of those others but have moved in from the rest of the tribe of Manasseh.
I Samuel 11:11 – God has shown Israel that Saul is His choice to defend them at this time.
I Samuel 11:12 – Those wicked sons of Belial have made their choice and will suffer the consequences of going against God’s choice.
I Samuel 12:14 – The BIG If. This If comes to the people. You will get a leader that represents you! For your leader to honor God you must honor God. The same is true for all nations. God is not weak. He can change a leader’s heart to benefit His people even if the leader does not follow Him.
I Samuel 12:20 – God is always ready to accept you if you will follow His Word and serve Him. Just as He told Cain but Cain did not take God’s advice.
I Samuel 12:22 – God keeps His word for His own sake. It is God’s pleasure to have Israel as His people. He also charged Israel to be priests to the nations to bring them in as adopted children so that they can also be His people. He sent His son to provide the great payment of sacrifice for sin that He did not owe so that we could receive the righteousness that our sin prevented us from being able to obtain.
I Samuel 12:22 – God keeps His word for His own sake.
I Samuel 12:25 – There is always an else in the BIG If that God gives. It is our choice to take God’s path or the path of our own pride. The world will always turn away from God and try to forge their own path, but that will always lead to destruction.
Proverbs 16:1 – If you don’t count God as important you get out of order as Eve did in wanting to be wise instead of obedient to God.
Proverbs 16:2 – Our pride blinds us to our sin.

Proverbs 16:4 – God don’t make junk. It is all there for His purpose. Even the choices of the wicked are there as an example of what not to do.
Proverbs 16:7 – Not even our enemies can be against us when we please God. The Israelites did not have trouble until they turned away from God.
Proverbs 16:9 – You may strive to be an actor, baker, doctor, fireman, lawyer, farmer, mother, nurse, policeman or any other professional but let God guide your daily actions.
Proverbs 16:12 – Not all leaders are righteous but the position of leadership, not their actions, is established by God. Yet God will use their wicked actions for Hs purpose no matter how it may hurt that wicked leader.
Proverbs 16:18 – Heard that!
Proverbs 16:22 – When you don’t understand what is going on and you don’t know how to proceed you get stuck. When you understand the reason for something that is occurring you can be effective in the outcome.
