Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Bible Reading for April 8 (ONPP)
Luke 13 – 15, Psalm 84
Luke 13:3 – Their sin was as common as ours is but the alter had been a place of protection unless there was a admission of guilt just as the sanctuary cities were for those perceived to have killed someone but the leadership of the city were to be protectors of the not guilty.
Luke 13:8 – Like trees and crops we do need to be fed the Word of God in order to produce fruit. If we do not then we are in danger of being cut down.
Luke 13:11 – As deformed as this infirmity had made this woman she still wanted to honor God at the synagogue. Our infirmities or fears should not keep us from public worship.
Luke 14:3 – Did the chief Pharisee have this man brought to his house to see if Jesus would heal on the Sabbath? He had done it before. It is the same as giving someone a meal that is already prepared but they did not see it that way. They could not even answer His question about if it is lawful to good on the Sabbath. This worship of the Sabbath above God is their idol. Who else but God could heal like this? Therefore they are putting the worship of the Sabbath above that of God.
Luke 14:12 – Are you too busy to honor God. Do you have to get your hair done or do you need to sleep late because of your work?
Luke 14:34 – A Christian is to be salt and light to the ones around them. They are to flavor their lives with the word of God and let that word shine in their lives so that others can see God as a blessing.
Luke 15:10 – Likewise I say to you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents. Yes, I am repeating the verse. It is so wonderful to see the joy in salvation.
Luke 15:31 – The prodigal had already received his inheritance and wasted it. The father still has control of the property. Would the elder son have a problem if his father had made a celebration for an old friend verses his younger son?
