Isaiah 28 – 30, Psalms 56
Isaiah 28:3 – God has also given Isaiah the view of the desolation of Ephraim. The warnings to Ephraim and Israel came from many prophets but they ignored the message.
Isaiah 28:7 – The priest and prophet were to stay away from alcohol. Leviticus 10:9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, neither you nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest you die, a statute forever throughout your generations.
Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging, and whoever goes astray by it is not wise.
Isaiah 28:9 – Who is left to learn the path of repentance and blessings? Who can become wise? The children are yet too young to understand and all others are bound to their own desires.
Isaiah 28:10 – Learning is a building process. You need a foundation of communication to start and continue with ever increasing growth.
Isaiah 28:11 – A foreign nation will call to God’s people and in reverent fear of God’s message will reveal it to them.
Isaiah 28:12 – God had led them to the Promised Land and given it to them but they rebelled from His Laws.
Isaiah 28:16 – The Stone of our Foundation is that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God.
Isaiah 28:17 – The line (level) and plumb are based on the Cornerstone to construct the building. The Cornerstone is Jesus Christ by which we will be judged for our righteousness. On that basis we are not worthy to be part of the building but God is the maker of all things and can reshape us if we will turn to His will. Otherwise ….
Isaiah 29:1 – Living like the Devil and paying your tithes is not the way to Heaven.
Isaiah 29:13 – If your heart is on something other than God then you’re not reading God’s word but rely on men to guide you. By reading and searching God’s word can you learn to love and not fear God and allow Him to guide you.
Isaiah 29:16 – Denying God as our maker is to counterfeit our existence and a counterfeit does not have the honor of the original and is removed or cast out.
Isaiah 30:10 – People are the same from antiquity to the present. II Timothy 4:3 For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but they will heap up teachers to themselves according to their own lusts, tickling the ear.
The Bible is about relationships with God and each other. This is why it is relevant in any generation.
Isaiah 30:18 – Wow! God is waiting to redeem them that have turned away from Him. Waiting with abundant mercy to keep justice away. To restore to you a home and a shoulder to lean on.
Isaiah 30:22 – Bloody rags and other biohazardous materials are so filthy to us that we cook them in high pressure and tempature before we throw them away. This example shows us what God thinks of our worship of things appears to Him.
