A sacrifice of the flock is brought to the north side of the alter to be slaughtered.
Leviticus 2:12 – The first–fruits were those that were ready to harvest first, before the insects could take advantage of them. They were also supposed to be the best available.
Leviticus 2:13 – Salt is a preservative a flavor enhancement and possibility expensive. Since the food offering was also eaten by the priests it provided them with a source of electrolytes.
Leviticus 4 – There is only one offering required for a sin whether it is a sin of an individual or of the congregation. But this offering must be repeated for subsequent occurrences because the death of an animal does not pay the price of sin but did bring them back into fellowship with God because of their obedient action. This offering did however represent the sacrifice that was able to pay the price the sacrifice of the sinless Christ the one who bore no debt to sin paying the price of death for each of us if we will accept it.
