Bible Reading for February 19 (ONPP)
Leviticus 18 – 20, Psalm 43
Leviticus 18:3 –This command is meant to guide the people to recognize their inability and put their trust in God. Teaching the things that are wrong and right is called disciplining.
Leviticus 18:5 – To live in God’s statutes and judgements is to keep them.
Leviticus 18:6 – Here God increases our understanding of the tenth commandment to not covet while also giving us a chance to practice discernment of the heart by giving them His guide on choosing a wife.
Leviticus 18:25 – When man falls to the point of choosing his near kin to “uncover their nakedness” God will curse the land to be abhorrent to them. In today’s social climate the people have begun to hate the society that they live in and others that are not like them.
Leviticus 19:2 – God wants Moses to remind the people of God’s Holiness and His Ten Commandments as He explains them to a greater extent.
Leviticus 19:9 – Love your Neighbor. If this was not given then Ruth would have nothing to gather for Naomi and Boaz would not have seen her hard work for her mother–n–law.
Leviticus 20:15 – Quite a distinction between killing an animal and putting a person to death because they broke the law.
Leviticus 20:22 – This is an implied BIG If and also prophetic.
Leviticus 20:24 – Even though the people continually turn away from God He doesn’t change His purpose.
