Genesis 21 – 23, Proverbs 2
Genesis 21:5 – And Shem, Noah’s son was only 390 years old and will live for another 210 years. This makes this time to be about 290 years after the flood.
Genesis 21:22 – Abimelech may have been one of those in Canaan that God was holding back destruction from in Genesis 15:16.
Genesis. 22:5 – Abraham was righteous in his belief that Jehovah would provide a substitute or that Jehovah would resurrect Isaac because of the promise of the blessing through Isaac.
Genesis 22:8 – How prophetic and retrospective that God will provide and did make His one sided promise to Abraham.
Genesis 22:13 – God did provide a ram for Abraham’s offering but also provided His only Son for the sin debt payment that we cannot pay.
Genesis 22:14 – The mount of Jehovah, mount Moriah, the spot on which the Jewish temple was built, yet the priests did not see the sacrifice provided for them.
Genesis 22:18 – The blessing of grace by the gift of salvation, a perfect sacrifice, to be received by faith.
Genesis 22:20 – Now it is the appropriate time for Abraham to start thinking about finding a suitable wife for Isaac since God has restated the blessing He gave when Abraham left Haran.
Genesis 23:16 – When Sarah dies Abraham must buy a place to bury her showing that the land is not yet his.
Proverbs 2:5 – If you seek to understand the Word of God you will understand that the fear of God is a blessing to be cherished and sought after.
Proverbs 2:21-22 – Here again God reminds us of the BIG If that He requires of us.
