Psalms 119:27 Make me to understand the way of Your Commandments, and I will speak of Your wonderful works.
Bible Reading for July 13 (ONPP)
Job 13 – 15, Psalms 16
Job 13:3 – To want to argue your case is not patience. Job must remember what he said in 9:14.
Job 13:4 – Job says friends that lie against you are not friends but worthless advisors.
Job 13:5 – This reminds me of the verse that says even a fool that stays silent is thought to be wise. Prov. 7:28
Job 13:16 – Again Job shows his faith in God, by recognizing that God’s mercy is the only salvation. Those that take upon themselves His name without trusting in Him are doing so through their own vanity.
Job 14:6 – A hireling was paid at the end of the day by Hebrew law. I wonder if these were waiting in line at the local hardware or gardening store.
Job 15:20 – The wicked have no hope in God’s mercy and only see death for their deeds. They are deceived in their own wickedness and do not turn away from it.
Job 15:20–35 – Dear Lord show mercy on these that have no hope and reveal yourself to them that they may see you and trust in your works for their salvation. Their heart has been hardened so much that they don’t know where or how to search for You. This description of them breaks my heart that they have turned so far away from You.
Psalms 16:2 – For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Psalms 16:8–11 – This is so comforting.
