Bible Reading for July 25 (ONPP)
Proverbs 1 – 4, Proverbs 30
You may say “We’re just getting ready to finish Proverbs. Why do we want to Start it ageain?” Proverbs reminds us that wisdom is soething to be sought. The scripture tells us that we would be destroyed (drawn away from God’s path) bacuse of our lack of knowledge. Knowledge without wisdom is like a fire without a place to keep it in. It wll burn whatever it can find without reguard to what it’s doing to the surroundings. Wisdom helps us keep knowledge to be used in the right way.
Proverbs 1:1 – Proverbs needs to be read slowly and prayerfully to absorb even just a part of God’s instruction. Reading it again this year I see more than the first time.
Proverbs ch 1–31 – Solomon was telling his son over and over to know wisdom but his son turned away from the wise and toward foolishness. This decision split the nation causing the northern kingdom to declare their own king and accepting worship of a false god.
This also goes well with Psalms 37.
Proverbs 1:7 – Yes we must fear God in order to believe Him. If we do not fear God then we say that He does not have the authority to decide our eternal fate. Our sin is the evidence of our rejection of God’s authority over us and condemns us as such. If we do fear God then we will try to understand His plan for our lives. Even when Abraham just believed God, God counted it to his as righteousness.
Proverbs 1:19 – Thus Rehoboam did as he listened to those around him that were without wisdom and raised taxes upon the people thus causing the splitting of the nation.

Proverbs 2:5 – If you seek to understand the Word of God you will understand that the fear of God is a blessing to be cherished and sought after.
Proverbs 2:21–22 – Here again God reminds us of the BIG If that He requires of us.
Proverbs 3:3 – Mercy is one thing that we are not taught enough. We see vengeance in the world and not mercy because they do not know God.
Proverbs 3:7 – Job was self–righteous because of his works until he partially realized God’s actual righteousness.
Proverbs 3:8 – The healing God is talking about is from the connection to our parents as a sinful person rejecting God. The healing will be in our innermost, to be born of the spirit to recognize God and truly revere Him.
Proverbs 3:12 – If you have never been chastened by God for your failure to honor Him then you should be very afraid and call to Him for salvation! Recognition of this fact is the warning that you need that shows God loves you and wants you to trust Him. If we ignore this fact then we only attribute the chastening and warning to other’s interference not God’s love and instruction.
Proverbs 3:13 – Solomon the most wise king explains to us the value of wisdom.
Proverbs 4:10 – Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long upon the land which Jehovah your God gives you.
Proverbs 30:4 – This sounds like God’s words in chapter 38 of Job.
What is His Son’s name? Are they looking for a son of David that is the son of the creator?
Gone to Heaven and come down? Jesus
Gathered the wind? Jesus
Bound the waters? Jesus
Established the earth? Jesus
For without Him there would not be anything made that was made.
Proverbs 30:5–6 – If a thing is not pure it is not of the Word of God. Also we should not add to the Word of God or take away from it for that would be a lie.
Proverbs 30:6 – It is a fearsome thing to even comment on the Word of God. He has put it in order and timbre that it might be understood in His will.
Proverbs 30:12 – Israel saw many similar generations, they forgot God and followed after their own lusts.
Proverbs 30:15 – These daughters want to take away as much as they can get.

Proverbs 30:20 – This woman has no same in her adultery. She does not cover herself in mourning for her sin, she eats and enjoys herself.
