Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Bible Reading for June 4 (ONPP)
I Chronicles 18 – 21, Psalms 133
I Chronicles 18:10 – This earthly king set his son and that son was graciously received. God sent His Son with great gifts for mankind and that Son was ridiculed, flogged, and killed.
I Chronicles 21:2 – David was putting Israel in danger.
Exodus 30:12 When you count the sons of Israel, of those who are to be counted, then they shall each man give a ransom for his soul to Jehovah when you number them, so that there may be no plague among them when you number them.
I Chronicles 21:5 – This does not precisely fit with II Samuel 24:9, but the conservative number in II Samuel may have been due to differences in abilities of those that were numbered and the scribes’ decision on which part of the data is relevant. That brings us to now, am I considered a strong man worthy to be counted for battle when the time arises to defend the Word of God? And by “I”, I mean “you” also.
I Chronicles 21:6 – Levi was not to be counted anyway because they were to be devoted to take care of the things God had separated to them. Benjamin was the least of Israel.
I Chronicles 21:15 – This is the land where Solomon built the Temple. God is showing us where His plan for Israel’s worship center is to be built. Even though our worship center to God should be in our heart.
I Chronicles 21:24 – What kind of offering is one that does not cost us something. Israel was commanded to bring a sacrifice without blemish. An animal like that would bring a good price and to forego that is definitely a sacrifice that costs. The love of our heart toward God is reflected in the amount of our life that we honor Him. Do we throw in a part of our life to honor God or our whole worth like the widow in Mark 12:42?
Psalms 133:1 – David was glad that all Israel was unified and it’s aroma of unification was pleasing to the soul.
Psalms 133:3 – After such a long dearth of Godly leadership it is refreshing and exciting to get back to corporate worship.
