Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Bible Reading for March 24 (ONPP)
Deuteronomy 28 – 30, Psalms 71
Deuteronomy 28:1 – Here is another example of the BIG If. These promises blessings and prominence over the nations will continue if they keep God’s commandments. This includes the sacrifices for sin, harvest, birth, and others as well as the big ten. God wanted Israel to have a heart of compassion and individual love for righteousness.
Deuteronomy 28:15 – The BIG If always has an else. In this case what God planed for Israel’s enemies if Israel obeyed God, became the curse that fell upon Israel when they did not obey God.
Deuteronomy 29:5 – What a miracle of preserving their clothing and shoes.
Deuteronomy 29:6 – God had provided manna and water for them and their wanderings did not allow them to plant and harvest.
Deuteronomy 29:18 – This shows first a man’s heart is hardened, one that is supposed to be an example of God’s people, before God allows punishment for him.
Deuteronomy 29:25 – Forsaking God, the reason of all evil.
Deuteronomy 30:1 – Forgiveness is available for the lost if they will turn to God. For Israel this is not an If, it is a When. God knows the time will come and He is the one to bring it to pass. His plan continues on and does not waver.
Deuteronomy 30:5 – God did it in the past and has done it today. Israel is a nation again.
Deuteronomy 30:7 – It is good to be on Israel’s side to avoid the curses that fall on their enemies.
Deuteronomy 30:14 – From the heart of a man comes his speech. This verse shows us a choice that we will make. Should we follow God or go against God? God made the conditions for life and going against that leads to death. Not because God condemns us but we condemn ourselves because we go against God’s plan for life.
Deuteronomy 30:15 – I’ve heard this used before but did not realize how it was applied. This, is a very appropriate application.
Deuteronomy 30:17 – The BIG If exists here. God is showing us the results of ignoring His guidance and following after our own prideful lusts.
Deuteronomy 30:19 – Again, God gives us the choice. We already know the results of the options, but do we follow our own pride, or do we look unto Him for our salvation?
