Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Bible Reading for March 6 (ONPP)
Numbers 21 – 23, Psalms 56
Numbers 21:1 – While facing Edom the Israelites were attacked from the rear by king Arad of the Canaanites
Numbers 21:3 – Hormah is on the west side of Edom. This is the first recorded time that Israel was involved in battle and God delivered the Canaanites into their hand in several cities.
Numbers 21:4 – After this victory they begin to make the long hard trek around Edom to the east. Whether the people thought that they were ready to go directly in to defeat those that occupied Canaan or the difficulty of the trip they again put their own wants ahead of God’s plan even though He was still guiding them and daily providing manna for them.
Numbers 21:8 – This is so easy just to look on the brass serpent to save your life. I guess you have to trust what God has said, before you make the trip through the camp to see the serpent of brass. That same idea is true today, you have to trust what God has said to turn your life over to Christ and receive eternal life.
Numbers 21:11 – Now Israel has gotten around Edom respecting their borders and is on their east side heading north.
Numbers 21:21 – Again Israel kindly asks to proceed through another’s territory but were denied passage.
Numbers 21:23 – Unlike when Edom came out to guard their border the Amorites came out to attack Israel.
Numbers 21:24 – Israel defeated the Amorite’s army and pursued them all the way back to their border of their neighbors.
Numbers 21:25 – God is beginning to clear the land for the nation of Israel already knowing that some will want to reside on the east side of the Jordan river.
Numbers 21:31 – Nearing the end of the forty years God is allowing them to live in cities already prepared by others.
Numbers 22:6 – It is not Balaam’s curse or blessing that is effective, it’s God’s cursing or blessing that Balaam is supposed to repeat.
Numbers 22:21 – It’s like Balaam didn’t think honoring God was enough. The promise of riches and position were too good in his eyes to not pursue.
Numbers 22:35 – Balaam needs to remember what the Angel has said to him and not covet the riches that Balak would provide him. Obeying God lasts forever but you can’t take the riches with you.
Numbers 22:41 – Balak brought the prophet of God to the temple of a false god. Balak did not want to honor God but dishonor Him.
Numbers 23:10 – Strike one Balak, God’s not playing your game and Balaam is being true to God’s Word.
Numbers 23:19 – What God says He will do, He does not change.
Numbers 23:21 – God does not see the iniquity because He has covered it with the blood of the sacrifices made for them. This shout of a king is it not he promised Messiah, the King of Kings?
Numbers 23:22 – God is reminding Balak of the plagues in Egypt and God’s great victory with Israel.
Numbers 23:24 – Strike two Balak, God is not playing your game and Balaam is being true to God’s Word.
