Psalms 119:27 Make me to understand the way of Your Commandments, and I will speak of Your wonderful works.
Bible Reading for October 31 (ONPP)
Ezekiel 36 – 37, Proverbs 13
Ezekiel 36:7 God is jealous toward His people and will redeem them when they are unjustly afflicted.
Ezekiel 36:22 – God is faithful and true and He will keep His promises though we do not. He will provide salvation for those of His people for His own reputation. Not because of our works of "goodness" but because of His grace to us.
Ezekiel 37:24 –Again scripture refers to David being king over Israel again. Matthew Henry states: "Christ is this David, Israel's King of old; and those whom he subdues to himself, and makes willing in the day of his power, he makes to walk in his judgments and to keep his statutes."
Proverbs 13:6 – This reminds me of the woman in Proverbs 7:13 that had just paid her peace offerings and was tempting a young man to come to her because her husband was away.
Proverbs 13:7 – You can save more money by not living an extravagant life.
Proverbs 13:13 – This is one of the many verses that show us our relationship to God. If we despise the Word, described by John as The Christ, we will be destroyed. If we fear the commandments of God to honor Him we will receive His reward.
Proverbs 13:16 – God says that His people are destroyed by the lack of knowledge in Hosea 4:6 and referred to in Ecclesiastes 12:9, Jeremiah 4:22 and in Luke 1:77 about the prophesy of John the Baptist being the preacher of the Gospel.
