Jeremiah 50, Psalms 91
Jeremiah 50:20 – God is going to pardon the ones He leaves as a remnant not because of their works but because He has determined to keep Israel from being completely annihilated.
Psalms 91:4 – Jesus makes a similar reference to God’s loving care in
Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to her, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!”
Psalms 91:11–12 – Satan tries to use these verses to get Jesus to sin (put His pride above the path God had for Him) in Matthew 4:6. The temptation came from Satan, however Jesus did not yield to temptation but humbled Himself to God’s plan and responded Matthew 4:7 Jesus said to him, It is written again, “You shall not tempt the Lord your God.”
